This project is co funded by the Government of Kenya and the European Union under the AgriFI Development Programme. It is implemented by the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KARLO) in collaboration with its partners with an overall goal of strengthening productive, climate adapted and market integrated small holder agriculture with the aim of reducing national food deficit and improving the sector competitiveness. ADSE as a sub grantees is upscaling the 3 new high yielding green gram varieties (Karembo, Biashara and Ndengu Tosha) in selected sub counties of Machakos and Kitui Counties as well as 2 new grain amaranth varieties (terere smart and katgold) for improved nutrition, food security and incomes among smallholder farmers in machakos and makueni counties.
