PATH’s mission is to advance health equity through innovation and partnerships. In this project we are working closely with PATH as a Sub-recipient to promote care seeking and following on referral recommendations among community members and child-care givers to reduce child morbidity and mortality due to childhood illness in Kitui county. Through community education, awareness raising and communications, these efforts will contribute to increased acceptance of Pulse Oximeters (POX) as part of health service access for overall improvement of child health services. The project conducts social mobilization activities to increase uptake of under-five health services ,Work with Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) linked to health facilities that are implementing TIMCI project activities to reach families and caregivers for children, with messaging and follow up for treatment of sick children ,Collaborate with partners to undertake advocacy to promote prioritization and investment of pulse oximetry into the county annual work plans and Engage at least one local media station and work with at least 10 local child health champions to relay child health messages to the community.
