The Garissa Livelihood Improvement Project (GLIP) is funded by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) program and has been working in partnership with through Transform Aid International (TAI) and is working with community members to develop lasting solutions to their poverty. The overall goal of the project is to improve the living conditions of the 5095 people of Sankuri ward in Balambala Sub County Garissa County by June 2024. This has been done through the established all-inclusive and organized community structures, improved knowledge, skills, technology transfer and marketing of agriculture and livestock units leading to sustainable farming systems and household incomes. Installations and rehabilitation of water structures at community level leading to increased access to water and reduced distances to water points for domestic, irrigation and livestock use. Hygiene and sanitation awareness and provision of hygiene materials leading to reduced prevalence on diseases and containment of the spread of Covid-19 among the target community.
